the end of the weekend

Thanksgiving was delicious.

I was a little underwhelmed by the sweet potatoes and the rice pudding but it could have just been because the cranberries were so perfectly scrumptious. I have been slowly nibbling away at the leftovers and already plotting making more. It’s far to tart for Matt’s tastes, but that just leaves more for me!

It was lovely to meet with friends at Cristalle’s and enjoy all the different foods that everyone had prepared. Cristalle had made smitten kitchen’s buckeyes and they were divine. Certainly one to try in the future.

But for now, it’s back to regular life. That is, until Wednesday, then it’s officially CHRISTMAS TIME!!

First tree of the season. Pretty in pink.

always the way

I was just getting excited for the holiday weekend and all that comes with it when three freelance jobs landed on my desk. I’m not complaining in the least, we need every penny we can get right now. It’s just. Sigh.

At least I have my ideal thanksgiving items nailed down!

Cranberry Chutney – Daniel Humm (Eleven Madison Park)

Cookie-Crusted Sweet Potatoes – Sweet Beet and Green Bean

Pumpkin Rice Pudding – not without salt

I’m hungry just thinking about it.

Where Am I?
